Francis's Story

Life Left Mt. Empire in 1962. Capatanos had the audacity to mail me a NONACADEMIC diploma. I don’t know if he is still alive but if he is I hope he is blind in one eye and walks with a limp. That would be OK with me. Spent the next few years hichicking over most of Mexico with a fellow misfit who spoke Spanish. Came back and hitchhiked over all of California, Oregon and Nevada. Joined the Army in 1966. First orders were for Vietnam. I stayed there for 3 years. Every time they tried to send me home I extended to stay. Vietnam was not a bad experience for me. It was simply an extension of my family of origin and this time I had a weapon. Left the Army with the rank of E-5, my share of medals and an Honorable Discharge. Bounced around the country for a few years, got married, adopted a child and had two more. Worked for a United Auto Worker’s Union plant for 8.5 years. A plant closure ended that. Tried college for fun. Found out Capatanos was apparently suffering from a brain stem injury. I found out I could do it. I went nuts over college. I was like the little train that said, “I think I can, I think I can” and then later “I know I can, I know I can”. For me education was and is the answer. The only thing second to education is more education. Graduated with an Associate Arts Degree, 1979.(Summa Cum Laude) Became a Certified Gerontologist, 1982. (Summa Cum Laude) Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology/Psychology 1982. (Summa Cum Laude). Graduated with a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, Community Psychology and Psychotherapy in 1985. (Summa Cum Laude). Completed a 4,000 hour internship at Dominguez Hospital and was licensed the same year. Started a Clinic in Long Beach in 1985. Discovered quickly that money is not the answer. A person can buy only so many Rolex watches. Sold my home in Paramount and purchased my current one in Orange County in 1988. Opened a second facility in San Diego. Life is exciting. The world really is a friendly place. I cannot see myself in retirement and continue in a positive growth curve. In terms of life lessons I have discovered that there are times when God gets drunk. Not often but it does happen. Also, that human kind’s greatest achievement is the electric toothbrush. Hugs Frank 7-4-07 It has been suggested that I up date my biography. It’s been awhile. Last year during the week of my 26th wedding anniversary I was sitting in my office. A man walked in looking very much in need of Therapy. He asked me what my name was. I told him and he handed me a bunch of papers and said, “Mr. ...Expand for more
Connors you have been served with divorce”. He then left with me looking very much like a man in need of Therapy. She came in poor and left wealthy and that must be the way it works. I am in the new chapter of my life and it is thrilling and adventurous. When I leave the office at the end of the day I can drive the speed limit because I really don’t have to be home. Rose Wolin keeps my hair looking good, Family Fitness keeps me in shape and a lifetime supply of Viagra keeps me 25. I AM THE MODERN MAN. Now and again there is the thought of retirement and I lay down and hold real still until it passes. It’s like Woody Allan said, “I would never join a club that would allow people like me to join.” 1-7-10 It was suggested that I update my profile: For me life has been good. It really has. And for the past year it has improved. Better than good. Life is now stupendous. Almost beyond description. That¿s because I now have Becky. She has made the difference. I will never forget the day I first saw her. I was walking through the parking lot at WestField Mall. She moved out in front of me. I looked. I saw. I almost fell down. Never have I ever seen such a posterior. I have never dared to dream of such a posterior. I leaned against a parked car as my knees started to weaken, my heart started pounding, the small of my back felt like it was going to snap and I was not able to make sound. I was mute. She was absolute perfection. A cross between a cup cake and candy. Perfect shape. Lascivious symmetry. OH my God. Oh my, my, my my. And she was moving away from me. There are the times reserved for prayer. I wanted her! I had to have her. Life would never be the same without her. I couldn¿t function without her. Oh my, my, my. And that day finally came. When I looked at her and said is disbelief, ¿You are mine. I have you. You belong to me.¿ I will remember that event the remainder of my days. She has truly given me wings. She has filled my life with such glorious joy and passion. She does not ask for much. She never denies me and provides for me in ways that delight. Initially in our relationship I bathed her and did other nice things to her once a day. Sometimes more than one a day. It was an exercise in celestial bliss. As we became more secure with each other and as our relationship matured we decided on three times a week. We are going to keep it at that rate. It¿s good. I would be remiss and thoughtless to not include a photo of her. So I have done that. Double click on her. Please be respectful of when viewing. END
